What To Expect

What do kids do in Gymnastics and Ninja Camp?

Each morning from 8:30-12:00, we offer Gymnastics and Ninja camps.  Three and a half hours of physical activity is a lot, so we do incorporate quiet games, crafts, and group activities into the time.  However, these camps are skill-based, so we do plan for kids to try new things and explore different types of movement through the summer.  More experienced school-aged gymnasts should plan to attend our afternoon Advanced Gymnastics Camps.

Does my child need to enjoy gymnastics to love Airborne’s camps?

No – kids can be successful & happy without prior acrobatic experience! Groups are divided by age and kids are encouraged to try new things at their own physical pace.

We hope every child will build a love for activity at a young age!  However, we try to ensure that campers are comfortable with the skills they are learning.  Our coaches know how to individualize skills at each station so that students are comfortable with what they are learning, and still feel physically challenged.

My student has specific goals & skills they want to learn, is that what camp is focused on?

Although students will get a lot of physical exercise and the opportunity to try new skills and drills, the primary focus is on physical fitness and FUN! Students who have specific goals beyond intermediate skills should participate in Airborne classes, or Advanced Gymnastics Camp. Our evening class instructors are thoroughly trained in the necessary drills and techniques to learn more advanced skills like back flips on trampoline or walkovers on balance beam.

What should my child wear and what do they need to bring for camp?

Bring a water bottle and a snack! Campers staying all day will need two snacks and a lunch. Wear athletic attire – comfortable shorts and a t-shirt or tank top (no spaghetti straps or exposed midriffs please.)  Bring shoes and socks for outside games.  Girls may wear a leotard if they want to, but a tucked-in shirt or long sport top is appropriate for boys and girls.

Can I be with my friend?

We will do our best to honor all friend requests! When you sign up, add your friend’s name in the “Friend Request?” field. Groups are formed based on age, the friend pair will likely be grouped with the younger campers if there is a large age gap.
