Technique Classes for 1st Grade to Age 8

Our entry level Jazz, Ballet, and Tap classes are divided by age group in addition to levels. Airborne’s Level 1 technique classes provide a necessary steppingstone from Mini Dance to higher level technique classes. Students entering first grade this fall will start here. Students aged 7-8 will either start their dance journey, or continue to learn, have fun and be challenged. Students will focus more closely on specific technical skills and steps. Concepts like class etiquette and work ethic are introduced, mixed with a fun and playful learning atmosphere, allowing students to mature as young dancers. Dancers who train multiple technique classes can audition for Petite Company.

All classes beyond level 1 require instructor approval. Please speak to the office to set up an evaluation.

Technique Classes Ages 9+

Students ages 9 & up will take a deeper look into the specifics of each dance form. Whether it is ballet, jazz, tap or modern, dancers will learn the detailed technical skills, choreography and musicality needed to excel in each form. As students progress from Level 1 to Level 2 and up in each style, they will focus on taking a fundamental knowledge of dance and developing it into proficient technical skill.  Airborne will occasionally have some genres of level 3 classes additionally divided by age based on our needs for each year. For the 2026-27 year, we will have Level 3Y (ages 9-12) and Level 3O (13+) for ballet, tap, modern, jazz, and company musical theatre.
